I started this blog several years to make a record of some of the things that I have stitched whether it be knit, sewing or cross stitch. I also like to come up with ideas for gifts for family members. I also have included some of my writing but not all of it. Just a little rambling sometimes. When I was a child I loved to visit my great aunt in Somerset Kentucky. So many wonderful memories come back when I think of that time.

Piney bushes
Well it has been awhile but I have been busy getting things cleaned up outside. I found that my Piney Bushes have survived another winter. I grew up calling these Piney Bushes but then I found that they were also known as Peonies. I suppose it is from whatever part of the country you have grown up determines what you identify them as being. I have 5 of these gorgeous plants in my yard at this time. The ones closest to the house seems to be spreading the most. I suppose that is because they are a little more protected. I can remember my mother had three of these in our yard separated by what she called Flags which if found later are actually known as Irises. It doesn't really matter what you call both flowers they are beautiful. I wil be posting more as they go through the season. I am planning on getting an Iris bed going in front of our house.
